"My stay in Chile is highlighted by my stay at Bea's House. Jaime met me at the airport at 4 in the morning ( a little late, but very apologetic!) What a delightful B / B, one of the best I have stayed in, and I have travelled the world so I know! A large room with a most comfortable double bed, a private bathroom with hot shower. Big high ceilings, warm comforter for cold nights and a gas heater as well. Enormous breakfast, whenever you wake up and all the coffee you can drink. Access to internet. Information on how to get into the centre of Santiago which is very easy as close to bus and metro routes. Help booking flights and passage on the boat to the glaciers. Delightful dinners at a resonable cost. A pool (does look bigger in the pictures!), but too cold to go in! Jaime said they might turn into a hot tub, in which case I will definitely return. The most beautiful garden to sit in. Absolutely delightful neighbourhood. There is this fantastic cake and ice cream shop, you must try it. I had a perfect vacation, all thanks to the delightful people at Bea's House. I can not praise the people there enough. thank you!"

"As a first time visitors to Chile, the service and accommodations at "Bea's House" in the quiet Nunoa district of Santiago were a great introduction to Chilean hospitality. We were met at the airport and introduced to Bea's House where we spent several days in the warm and inviting atmosphere of this unique and restful oasis in the heart of a major city. We found the rooms comfortable and the breakfasts generous. The collection of artifacts are unforgettable and fascinating and the property has many charms, including a delightful patio and garden area. Bea and her staff are warm an responsive providing a comfortable base to enjoy the city and environs. Bravo Bea !"

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Bea's in December . We were haggard from a long day of travel and found the home to be an oasis. The colors and furnishings are whimsical, inviting and artistically done. The grounds are meticulously kept and beautiful. It is set back from the street and very private. With the exception of one multi-level apartment building, you cannot see any other neighbors' homes because of the high ivy covered walls. Doors and windows were left open, allowing fresh air in. Shortly after checking in, Bernardita made refreshing smoothies for us. And she was always had a light breakfast at the ready no matter what time we woke up. They were also gracious in letting us stay way beyond a normal check out time since we weren't catching a bus until the evening. I highly recommend staying at this lovely home.

December 2010
We visited Santiago for four weeks from 23rd January to 21st February 2010. I went first for just over three weeks to take a language course, and my wife followed for the last eight daya or so. We found Bea's House through the internet and Jaime picked me up from the airport. As luck would have it, on the first night Bea and friends were going to see her cousin sing in the town centre and I was invited along. It was a great start to my stay.
Bea's House is in an area called Nunoa, which is about half an hour by very frequent and efficient transport from the centre. Nunoa iteslf is a delightful place to stay. A short walk away are restaurants of different qualities, from good to very good, and also there is a pub that brews its own excellent beer, close to a jazz club that has very good gigs over the weekend. Nunoa Plaza quite frequently has entertainments for the kids, and is a pleasant place to while away any spare time and eat and drink. Bea's House itself is in a quiet, tree-lined location.
Bea is a most welcoming hostess. Her house is idiosyncratic, like Bea herself, which makes it a fun place to stay at. It is full of interesting and varied artifacts, pictures and ornaments, naturally with a Latin American emphasis. A full size mermaid over one of the bathroom basins is indicative! The garden is green and pleasant, with loungers and a small pool. Bernada is Bea's companion/maid, and Bernarda is a friendly and helpful treasure.
Our room was en-suite, of a good size. Breakfast was continental style and always ample and tasty. When Maggie my wife arrived she was as entranced with Bea's House as was I.
All in all, we have no hesitation whatsoever in wholeheartedly recommending Bea's House.

We stayed briefly (2 nights only) in early December 2009 at the end of a 6 week motorcycling trio through Patagonia, both Chile and Argentina, to Ushuaia and back.
Our arrival at Bea's House was the opportunity for a couple of days relaxing and resting up before our flight home.
I really enjoyed the "small hotel" feel and the hospitality...dinner cooked for us, friendly personal service, interaction with another guest who was a friend of Bea's, a swim in the pool, looking at the artwork etc.
The only negative comment would be the distance from the city, but even that worked out OK; finding our way into town and back again by public transport were little adventures in themselves.
I would definitely stay there again.
